Revitalization with Historic Appeal
Lowe and Atlas Hotels completed a comprehensive, multi-million-dollar renovation and repositioning of the 675-room Town and Country resort in San Diego. The vast 40-acre urban resort hotel and conference center is located on Hotel Circle North in Mission Valley. The new Town and Country resort is the culmination of several years of thoughtful design and development work to recreate the expansive property as a modern resort destination, equally attractive to leisure, business and convention visitors. The redevelopment program improved every aspect of the property including adding new recreation elements, an array of top-flight dining outlets, a redesigned lobby and entrance, updated event and meeting spaces and most importantly the renovation of every spacious guest room and suite as fresh, contemporary and comfortable spaces.
The mixed-use program for the property included reducing the number of hotel rooms from 954 to 675 in order to add to the outdoor recreation and gathering places as well as bringing residences to the site. Lowe’s plan was realized with the reopening of the resort and the 2018 sale of approximately 10 acres for development of The Society apartments, which opened in 2022.
Lowe’s reinvention of Town and Country includes designating 12 acres for the public and restoring the natural habitat alongside the San Diego River, while creating a three-acre park with seating and interpretive signage. The area also features a new pedestrian bridge and a multi-use trail system that adds to the existing 17.5-mile San Diego River Trail.
Town and Country has been revitalized for the future while retaining its historic appeal.
