Innovative Sustainable Building for Dynamic Government Agency
This three-phase, 180,000 square foot build-to-suit office project was developed for the GSA Bureau of Public Debt on a six-acre parcel acquired by eminent domain by the City of Parkersburg. The project was designed to achieve a LEED Bronze certification. This GSA design/build project for a new headquarters for the Bureau of Public Debt involved site planning and design for a three phase project with a shared core design, parking and building entrance feature. The project was successfully completed under GSA’s Design Excellence, competitive best value build-to-suit lease procurement program.
Lowe’s primary goal was to create workspace that reflects the dedication, professionalism and dynamic character of the Bureau of Public Debt while also providing an innovative building located in a largely historical district of the city. Additionally – while not a GSA requirement – Lowe incorporated sustainable elements throughout the project to benefit to the project, the user and the community.
