Retail Power Center
As part of its asset management assignment for H.F. Ahmanson & Company, Lowe led the development of Desert Crossing, an award-winning 520,000 square foot retail center in Palm Desert, California. Lowe completed the entitlement process, created the retail concept, managed the development and completed leasing to top national retail tenants. The pedestrian friendly Moroccan-themed center was sold in late 1995 to a state pension fund. Desert Crossing earned the SADI award for “Best New Open Center” from Shopping Center World & Retail Image Store magazine. It remains an active hub of retail activity in the Palm Desert Retail District.
