Authentically Seattle

Lowe and its hospitality division led the redevelopment and rebranding of The Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue in Seattle, Washington. Located between Pike and Union Streets, the hotel enjoys a premier location in the heart of the city’s primary business district. In 2014 the hotel was rebranded Motif, Seattle, making it the largest independent hotel in downtown Seattle. A $25 million, seasonally timed, phased renovation program began shortly after acquisition to expand meeting space, renovate and add guestrooms and reposition public spaces to reflect a classically-inspired modern design. The renovation added 22 guestrooms and increased meeting space by 50%. An entire floor of event space was created with a 2,000 square foot high tech fitness facility was added on the 4th floor. The restaurant and outdoor terrace were renovated to highlight city views, adding modern décor, flexible dining options and inviting open spaces including the largest outdoor terrace in downtown Seattle. The new rooftop lounge is consistently rated among the best in the US. The redesign emphasized the spirit of Seattle, with vibrant service and inviting individually crafted spaces inspired by music, art/design, culinary and fashion to weave Seattle culture throughout the hotel.
